Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, single-use, sterile needles into specific points on the body. These points correspond to an extensive physiological mapping system described in Chinese Medicine, traditionally referred to as channels or meridians.

In Chinese Medicine theory, symptoms arise when the body’s regulatory systems are disrupted: whether through stress, inflammation, lifestyle load, hormonal shifts, or external factors. Treatment aims to restore balance, improve circulation, and support the body’s innate capacity for adaptation and repair.

Modern research suggests that acupuncture influences the nervous system, circulation, immune signalling, and inflammatory pathways. In practice, it is used to regulate overactive systems, support underactive ones, and improve overall functional resilience.

Acupuncture does not “force” change- it supports the body to reorganise and use its own resources more efficiently. Kiah practices acupuncture using evidence-informed methods, integrating traditional diagnostic frameworks with contemporary physiological understanding.

Body Acupuncture: About

body acupuncture

I acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I practice. I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging, and honour their enduring connection to land, waters, and culture. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
